Ikea is Hell on Earth on Sunday

Lou and I went to Ikea.  We also hit up Lowe’s, picked up a dimmer switch, a new succulent and some paint chips.  Yup- a Big Sunday.  Ran into Steve and Deanna, who I adore. Deanna is 4 months pregnant and has the tiniest little

24 Hours with Rach

24 Hours with Rach

So Rach and I met up after work Saturday. We ended up eating at the Green Room. We wanted to go out, but not until around midnight, so we went to my house and watched TV for a couple hours. We went to Red Square,

September 27 in PikaLand

Lou and I had Julia and Cory over for a little birthday celebration for Cory (who turned something age last week). I wanted to celebrate with him a little- he is always there for me when I have a birthday/party/breakup/etc. Jules had a super stressful week with the stock market disaster. I don’t really understand what she does for work and she’s probably explained it to me at least three times, so at this point I have to just pretend. Which is fine, I’m good at pretending. I admitted to Julia that I have been reading about the depression (specifically: recipes such as potato/spinach and onion stew) and she said that she’s been asking her mom “What did Gramma do during the depression, you know, for food and stuff?”. Apparently Julia now has a good plan for stale bread- bread pudding. All of this led to probably an hour of depression talk- mostly hilarious- with Lou insisting that we have a “Depression Party”. (Other ideas include 1.turning the backyard into “Shanty Town” 2. Running a brothel out of our shed 3. Eating Cory’s dog for Thanksgiving (since he is brown and just about the right size for a Depression era Thanksgiving). Back to the party: Julia is going to wear rags and show up with a family of goats. I am kind of looking forward to it. I don’t know how Bean feels about goats though. We also decided on our Halloween costumes. *OH!, Before I forget- Julia’s company cancelled their Christmas party this week, due to the stock market/bank situation. Personally, I think that’s fantastic. But Julia asked her manager: “David Charles (the CEO) is canceling CHRISTMAS?!” I don’t think it went over well.

OK, back to Halloween costumes- I am going to be Michelle Obama. Lou is going to be Barrack. Julia=Sarah Palin and Cory is going to be John McCain. It’s perfect. Except I don’t know how to make myself brown. I have a month to figure it out though.

Phone Calls on a Friday Night

Talked to Sarah for the first time in a bit tonight; caught up on September in Pika and Pants land. It’s always good to hear her voice, I miss her every day. Also spent a lot of time talking to Heidi, and even more time talking

Friday Organization / Making Moves

Worked all day with Sasha and Kimberly.  I truly love working with both of them, they are a joy to be around and just make things pleasant at the office.  Thanks to them, I LOVE going to work for once, as odd as that sounds.

A Night Out with Heidi

Worked all day with Kimberly.  I was on my way to eat alone at Junior’s, but decided it might be worth a shot to see if Heidi was hungry.  We ended up meeting up (with Piper too) and had dinner at Daily Planet.  It was nice and warm for once.  We brought Piper home and walked downtown, which is always super fun, I fell like I could walk and talk forever.  Went to Red Square, and then to RJ’s with Omar.  I stayed at Heidi’s, and slept in, she got up and reluctantly went to work.  I really like Heidi, she’s chill, fun, smart, remarkably beautiful, and knows so many people.

Aguardente De Cana

Worked with Kimberly and Vanessa today.  It was a slow day at the office, probably because the US economy is collapsing.  I stayed late and tried to get the security camera to work, with no luck.  When I got home, around 10, Sasha called, and

Rachel is Here

Rachel is Here

Rachel and I hung out all day yesterday.  I picked her up at the waterfront and we got coffee and wandered around downtown.  She chopped her hair off, it’s cute, but it’s going to take me a minute to get used to it.  We

Kimberly’s First Week Complete

Kimberly’s First Week Complete

Kimberly finished her first full week at DJDeals.com, and is on the same level as people that have worked a few months.  I’m finally in a great position to develop the business further thanks to her help!

I went out last night with Fran and Kimberly to Green Room, and then went to Red Square.

Tonight is the White Party, I invited Heidi.

Luis moved his company, okay-okay into the office today.  It’s pretty cool, I’m super stoked that he decided to move in! I really love having creative people around, and having Luis here will make me dislike Vermont quite a bit less.

Rachel is Here!

Worked from 1-7:30 today with Kim and Vanessa. Kimberly is doing so well, I’m really happy with her. Luis and Julie stopped in. He is going to sublease an office from me. Just before bed, Rachel got here. I wanted to pick her up but
