It’s been raining a lot lately which is probably why I should be taking Allegra… Worked at the office today because Rikki and Sasha had to leave early…Got caught up on all emails. Hung out with Craig at JJ’s for a bit, and then had …
Worked a bit on the website and advertising today. Sales are very very slow, need to add more products ASAP. Got a coffee with Craig and went for a walk. Got a quote on replacing the mirror from Acme Paint & Glass. Still need to …
Hung out with Amanda Richer for the evening, had a chocolate creemie with chocolate sprinkles for lunch and had lobster crepe dinner at Daily Planet. Yum.
Finished cleaning up the glass from the mirror. How long can my bad luck really last?
Saw Lauren and Kris, Jess Werkheiser, Lo, and Matt Bessette in front of Ken’s Potato Chips. Lo is cute.
I just got back from Montreal…I am so weak! Norah and I spent a week together, and it made my year. I missed her so much this year, while she was in Orlando, and to be able to spend a week with her was priceless. …
Mom came to see the record shop today…it meant a lot to me. I wanted to get her approval, as she had doubts that it was a good idea. I think she feels confident in my business decisions, but not confident of consumer spending, and perhaps national recession. Luckily for me, DJ’s have a fetish with vinyl, and regardless of whether or not they can afford it, they usually buy it. Talked to Norah for a while today, so happy I have her in my life.
Whew! The first week of Joyryde Records was great! I can’t believe (I am pinching myself as I type this) that I am this happy. I actually get up in the morning and am ANXIOUS to get to work! I don’t even call it work, …
I am writing right now at 4 am because I am confused and lonely. I miss Lili a lot, and mostly it is the thought of Lili and I not being together that is making me so miserable. I know, I know…I can someday find …
So I have been working my a$$ off and spending exorbitant amounts of money ($12,000) since the first of the month trying to get Joyryde Records open for Thanksgiving. So far I have had to have the carpet replaced, walls removed, counters built, transported, and assembled on site, wall displays built, record cases constructed, windows covered, and lighting put in. Yesterday I had an electrician wire outlets throughout the 21 foot long counter to provide power to the turntables and related equipment, the new computer, and the cash register and credit card stuff. I painted the top of the counter a hammered metal finish as well. Today I plan on finishing the assembly of the counter, and wall displays. I had to spin last night at RJ’s, and the night sucked…nobody was out, so we get paid next to nothing. I went to sleep at 4:30 and got up at 9:30 grrrr. I miss Lili.
