Lifted

I produce an event called LIFTED with my friend Josh. We have produced 21 of them since we began a few years ago, and it has had its ups and downs. We have had many shows that sold very poorly, and I attribute some of that to Josh booking acts that nobody has ever heard of. We decided to restructure our whole cooperation of the event, and it has proved to be successful with my new strategy. Prior to this Friday’s event, Josh booked the talent and designed the flyers, and I took care of all marketing and promotion of the event. Basically for 20 events, I was stuck with having to get 500 people go to shows, where the talent wasn’t able to pull that many. This got really frustrating, because although I worked my butt off and did everything right, we had a bad response. Now I have decided to take LIFTED into my own hands. I do the booking, I promote the event, I hire Josh to design the flyers, and this way it is a much more coordinated effort, where I can ensure that the talent is good, and I feel confident promoting them. Our show 2 days ago proved that my marketing can work…we had 538 paid tickets, with almost 600 people in attendance. Capacity is 550. It was amazing, and it is only going to get better from here. It went so well, that I can finally make a living off of it if I can make every event a huge success. I want to thank Chris, Kristy and Jeff for all of their help. OK, enough venting about how happy I am with myself, now I feel like a weirdo. good night.
