Makapuʻu With Steve-O!

I went to my favorite acai bowl spot, Island Vintage Coffee, to have a coffee and a bowl in the morning. Later in the day Steve picked me up and we headed out to the East cost of the island to the region called Makapuʻu. It was rad catching up with him after a decade. Apparently he’s been having a hard time making ends meet, so I’m hoping to inspire him to start a tour guide business on the islands; to capitalize on the largest industry here.

We met a couple scratch DJ’s who were filming a music video on the cliffs down by the ocean. I took their photo and ended up talking to one of them for a while later on Facebook.

We explored a bunch of the coastline from Lanai Lookout to Sandy Beach, and then went to China Walls to watch the sunset.

Steve dropped me off at Growler so I could grab dinner and a beer, and then I walked over to Pierre Toma and Erin Huettenmoser’s hotel for a beer and to catch up with them.
