And yet again.

So I leave tomorrow morning for Miami.
My insurance company only pays for a rental car for 30 days, and called this morning to tell me I have to return it by Wednesday, which means I had to return it today. Upon returning it, they saw the damage from where someone did a hit & run, and told me that I’d have to open ANOTHER claim with my insurance company, pay the $500 deductible, and have it repaired. I did. I asked them to drop me off downtown where I store the Porsche so I’d have a vehicle to get to the airport and to do errands today. When I got there, the car was completely dead. The hoods won’t open, the doors won’t open, and the car won’t start. I call Porsche and they tell me that Porsches cannot be left for more than 7-10 days, or the battery will die, and needs to be replaced with a new one ($400) every time. The computer systems constantly check themselves, so you can’t even go on a quick vacation unless you either plug the vehicle into an outlet, or you totally remove the battery.
They had to send 2 tow trucks to get the car, one to extract it from the parking garage, and a flatbed to get it back to the dealership. Now I have no vehicle at all, both are out of comission for a week or longer.
