Visiting Chad Was a Challenge!
Chad asked me to come up to visit Friday afternoon, so I knew I’d have to take my Boxster out of “Storage” status with USAA, which turned into an hour phone call with them trying to figure out if it should be insured in Florida or Vermont…and for how much; ultimately they decided to insire it in VT and that it would be insured beginning at midnight (which meant my drive to Fort Lauderdale and back would be completely uninsured!). Upon backing out of my parking spot I found that the rear tire was completely flat 🙁 After some searching I was able to find an air compressor in the hood trunk, and get it inflated enough to get to a gas station and check the rest of them. Once I hit the highway though, the car vibrated heavily and I realized that the tires had flattened from sitting in the garage for 18 months, and now they all have a flat spot on them! Then my “Your left brake light is out” light came on…what is usually a really fun drive turned into 2 hours of pure stress. Ugh.
Eventually I made it and we went to Green Bar & Kitchen for dinner, Capone’s to try to visit Gregg Thuot, G&B Oyster Bar for 2 dozen oysters, and then Kaluz for a drink All in all we had a really fun time!
Saturday I woke up late and did some more cleaning, and attempted to repair the broken bathroom sink, but couldn’t because someone broke the drain pipe completely off. I ended up completely rearranging the entire elfa closet system in my bedroom instead.
After my tuna sandwich I talked to Jenny on Facetime and bought her a plane ticket to come visit me February 6-10th! Jake Roy invited me to a party Saturday night, then Chad did, and then Mike Henderson invited me to go to Space at 3AM with Sharam…but I couldn’t handle another night like that so I didn’t say yes to any of them.
